Hi all,
Eric Knisley here. For the last two years, I've been managing the digital dome system here at UNC-Chapel Hill, at the Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI). A major part of my work has been working as a creative consultant to the content creation team at the Morehead Planetarium.

Due to recent funding reductions, I, along with some twenty of my colleagues, have been laid off. I'm actively looking for a new position, preferably a creative one, at a new or existing planetarium or fulldome theater. I have nearly twenty years of experience in digital content creation of all sorts--2D, 3D, animation, musics, sound effects, immersive and interactive. I have been working in domes since the early 1990s, first at the Elumens corporation (USA), then at Immersive Displays UK (England), and now at RENCI (USA). I'm an award-winning animator, cartoonist, illustrator and photographer.

I have supervised content teams all over the world, and have worked with Japanese video artist Mariko Mori (Tokyo, New York) on two projects, the staff of the Museum of World Religions (Taiwan), Microsoft's game division (Leipzig), staff at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia), and with staff at the Melbourne Institute of Technology.

My work with the Morehead Planetarium has been extremely successful, allowing the content team to radically shortcut the dome content learning curve, resulting in a better show in far less time.
