Navegar Foundation would like to invite you to the Workshop in Immersive Cinema, from October 2 to 5, and to the Immersive Film Festival, from October 5 to 7, 2012. Both will be held at Centro Multimeios Espinho, Portugal.

Founded on July 10th, 2000, Navegar - Foundation for Cultural, Artistic and Scientific development of Espinho, has as main purpose the dissemination, promotion and development of culture, arts and scientific knowledge, offering quality education and entertainment to all of those visiting the city of Espinho.

In recent years, Navegar Foundation has been developing efforts in the area of Immersive Cinema, through the organization of festivals, conferences and workshops around this wonderful field.

With the organization of these events, Navegar intends to further contribute to the development and progress of this area of cinema.

The WIC, the workshop in Immersive Cinema, is an event conceived to gather the community and allowing it to share experiences and exchange ideas in a warm and informal way. It intends to explore the basics of fulldome, workflow and techniques but also the new trends of immersive cinema, new approaches and new insights.

The IFF, Immersive Film Festival is redesigned at each edition in order to broaden the planetarium screening spectrum, promoting the latest premieres and fulldome productions. A selected jury will mind the overall of fulldome productions combining directing, artwork, soundtrack, best use of the dome and narrative, among the submitted productions, both full fulldome show and short pieces.
