Best Fish Eye Lens

Hey Dome Dudes

Just wondering what would be the best Fish Eye Lens for a Digital SLR for Full Dome?

I probably be using a Panasonic GH1 with 37mm converter or Canon 7D.

I'm based in London, I'd probably buy a cheaper one for experimenting but rent a good one for a final shoot.

Any ideas of where is good to rent and buy lens in London or online?

Help is much appreciated!

Spelling Test

Perhaps it's a little thing, but for me it's not: Shared words are the basis of shared understanding and a culture. In our case, we can't seem to agree on our spelling of fulldome/full-dome/full dome after more than ten years. (Or we're lousy spellers... :)
Toward creating shared usage - or at least some peer-pressure and spelling hints- I set up another spelling poll on the Yahoo dist list:…

help with conversion tool - won't communicate with PS

I downloaded the file for the conversion tool for Windows. I have used it in the past...a year ago...on another computer, but I when I try to load it on this computer it says "couldn't communicate with Photoshop." Any recommendation?I have a science field day event or 4th and 5th graders on Saturday and was hoping to update my slideshow for this year. See More

New To Fulldome Filmmaking And Need Some Advice

Hi thereI am currently researching how to produce a fulldome astronomy film for the Planetarium in Cape Town, South Africa.I'm trying to figure out which camera setup would produce the best results. We want to film in and around the telescopes in Sutherland. We want the audience to feel like they're sitting outside in between the telescopes. With the current tech available, would it be easiest to use a high-end 360 camera and convert the footage to fulldome in After Effects?I was looking into…See More
