Yesterday evening, the Institute of American Indian Arts' Digital Dome facility hit a major milestone by rotating their new fulldome facility a full 90-degrees (from full horizontal to full vertical). The 24" dome is designed for a variety of innovative applications and viewpoints. In addition to the 90-degree rotation, the dome can also raise and lower a full 18' and may very well be the first of its kind to offer this degree of articulation in the world.
The IAIA has collaborated with the great help and assistance of David Beining, Astro-Tec and Sky-Skan.
The facility will have its grand opening in September, 2010. The IAIA is located in Santa Fe, NM.
