we are happy to announce to most comprehensive FullDome Festival ever. 2010 will be the 4th edition of the FullDome Festival at the Jena Planetarium, Germany, and again with an extended scope: For the first time, full-length feature shows will be presented. The agenda is amazing. The Festival will see 27 all new shows from producers around the world. We are proud to present two world premieres: Natural Selection by Robin Sip (Mirage3D) and tempus.ruhr by Rocco Helmchen, an artistic fulldome show introducing the largest conurbation in Europe by combining time-laps photography and fulldome animation.
Remaining a regular program item, the Student Festival will present, and award prizes to, fulldome sequences created by students. The Festival will culminate with a Saturday-night gala of the best entries in the categories of student contributions, professional clips, and of the best full-length feature show(s).
Gather with professionals and new talents. Join creative minds.
The Festival not only provides a survey of the current innovative development of fulldome contents but is also the best opportunity for all fulldome theaters to meet professionals and to look for content.
All events of the festival will be accessible to the public. The best fulldome productions will win prizes. Carl Zeiss will award three prizes to the best student entries. A panel of judges will also assess the fulldome feature shows and clips entered by professional producers. The winners in both categories will get the "FullDome Festival Award of Excellence" – a special mark of distinction for high-quality shows. The award ceremony will take place during the Festival Gala on Saturday, May 8, 2010.
