The dome as a public performance space

We are actively doing research at the Society for Arts and Technology [SAT] to define new type of performance spaces. Here's a video about the DOMAGAYA event we did last year in Quebec city with our inflatable dome, the SATosphere. While most of the domes outside planetariums seem to be used only for Cocktails and product launches (agree that it can provide an interesting form of funding for the technology) we are interested in using these technologies to define new types of artforms and public performances.

Working actively with the open source community, we are now planning our future immersive performance space (60 ft with no seats) that will be permanently installed on our roof next summer, at the centre of Montreal's cultural and show district. It will be available, 365 days per year, for art performances, immersive cinema... and when no shows are programmed, a few corporate cocktails and product launches. Anyone interested in working towards that objective is invited to contact us ;- )

I'm with id. Inspiring. Gotta have you discuss+screen at DF09... (Note in your inbox.) Need you to meet friends at the Institute of American Indian Arts (Santa Fe, NM) where a dome is in development.

bueno,
d
