Just sent this to Tim in Hamburg,
Slogging through the infrastructure stuff. Collecting money (hint), banking, bookkeeping, planning etc.
Web page needs a close look and your thoughts and input are appreciated. Here is a very brief download of our thinking; We have an IMERSA template in place as a public site at IMERSA.org. Vortex Immersion has been doing the build out, including the member sign up and payment via PayPal.
Ryann has Yahoo Fulldome group that is quite active
David launched this Fulldome.org as a .ning social network page
Paul Bourke has an active smalldome network
Dome-L will launch as a .ning social page soon
How should IMERSA support, consolidate and simplify this all? Do we just run RSS feeds into IMERSA.org?
Should we build out (at some expense) the existing IMERSA PHP pages to allow member access to specific sections and populate these pages with valuable member stuff?
Should we create an IMERSA.org.ning page to suppliment IMERSA.org? Could the two be connected in some way to retain member security and build on the powerful .ning back-end?
In any case we are all striving to grow the community, share and consolidate the most useful infomation, keep it updated, build member input and value, encourage new members (paid and guest) host clip libraries, resource libraries, Vet papers and standards, etc.
We do not want to do it over later. How do we build on the current resources for the future? What should we be supporting with IMERSA funding and what is member (volunteer) driven.
stop by at SAT when you are in Montreal... we can discuss how you could participate in our immersive vj-ing residency program.
Our immersive performance space (60 ft dome with no seats) will be launched next summer...
we have a working lab right now that is 18 feet in diameter. The New permanent dome will be ready around September 2010 on our roof. It will be 60 feet diameter with a capacity of about 350 to 400 people. If you want to come and visit, and experiment... you must contact Louis-Philippe St-Arnault (firstname.lastname@example.org) who's in charge of the lab space and Joseph Lefèvre (email@example.com) who's in charge of the dome residencies program.
Keep me in cc on these discussions...

Would anyone be kind enough to share your technique(s) for converting HD video to fisheye (fulldome)? I'm in the process of building a sky show and are planning on assembling the program within the next couple of days. Any help is greatly appreciated!See More
